Portrait of a Madman

I was going to post this in the next couple of days, but figured now is as good a time as any...this is something I had been working on periodically since mid last year, but only really pushed to get it finished this past week or so. It is inspired by this photo: www.flickr.com/photos/robzy/70… It has become a tribute to my mate Steve, who passed away just yesterday due to liver cancer (see mine or his lovely wife *gurihere's journals for more details). He was an amazing Joker, and a great person in general. I finished it last night so I feel the date has a bit of extra significance.

Going to miss you heaps, mate.

Time-wise collectively it has probably taken at least 12 hours, using acrylic paints. Overall I'm happy with how it has turned out, especially when the face took so long to get right. Once I managed it though everything started to fall into place.

Sorry for the cruddy photo guys - I will make the time to take a better one (outside, while the weather is nice) in the coming weeks. Got a few other things to do first.
